In 2007, CIG successfully acquired and is aggressively growing Hooven-Dayton Corporation (HDC) as its first wholly owned subsidiary company. HDC is a 76 year old innovative supplier of high-quality, flexographic and digital labels, coupons, short run flexible packaging and specialty printing. Specialty offerings include lottery bet slips and receipt rolls; coinless casino slot machine tickets; high end special effects; variable data; numbering; and barcodes (including 2D, QR Codes and MS Tags, variable or static).  Dayton, Ohio based Hooven-Dayton Corp. is certified as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) by NMSDC, through its SCOMSDC affiliate, and by the State of Ohio.

In April, 2011 HDC successfully acquired and merged into its operations 35 year old Benchmark Graphics, Inc., a Richmond, Indiana based flexographic label company, to increase capacity, scale, talent pool and geographical reach. This acquisition/merger extends HDC’s manufacturing capabilities to supply custom pressure sensitive labels and tags to retail and industrial markets.

Since acquisition, the company has grown from 45 to over 100 employees, tripled revenue, and is projected to maintain annual organic revenue growth rate in excess of 20% over the next five years. HDC has three plant locations: two in Dayton, Ohio and one in Richmond, Indiana. HDC works closely with its customers to help reduce inventory through customized print-on-demand while allowing for late stage differentiation. HDC provides the speed and flexibility to help get products to market faster and employs a range of printing solutions to give products maximum shelf appeal and visual impact. HDC excels at both full-scale and small-scale production runs and test-market runs. The company’s labels, flexible packaging, apparel tags, and coupons offer superior value, performance, and durability. HDC customers range from small business to multi-national corporations and represent a variety of industries including automotive, health & beauty, cosmetics, medical, household products, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, industrial, and lottery and casino gaming industries.

CIG successfully acquired Digital Color Inc., an Akron, Ohio based company on June 27, 2011 as its second wholly owned subsidiary company. The name of the company after acquisition is now Digital Color International, LLC (DCI).  DCI began as a prepress service provider in 1992 and in the mid 90’s began its evolution to a full service offset and digital print provider.  The company’s capabilities include 6-color direct-to-print offset printing, digital sheet fed printing, wide format digital printing, die cutting, digital asset management, fulfillment, warehousing, and graphic design services.

Today DCI, with over 50 employees, has evolved into proven experts at providing high-quality, innovative and fully-integrated wide format and digital print and creative solutions for temporary retail displays, specialty packaging and custom folding cartons, offset print and finishing, fulfillment and warehousing, direct mail campaign solutions, digital asset management (on-line storage) and digital storefronts (on-line fulfillment). DCI is known for its creative solutions that emphasize speed and flexibility to help take customer products to market faster (increased speed to market) while allowing for late stage differentiation (last minute changes).  The net result provides its customers with the shelf positioning and shelf appeal needed to help win over customers inside the store.

DCI’s state-of-the-art 40,000 sq. ft. facility is strategically located in Akron, Ohio near major highways, 35 miles from Cleveland International Airport, 15 miles from Akron Regional Airport and in close proximity to FedEx and UPS hubs.

On June 12, 2012, Che International Group (CIG) successfully acquired its third subsidiary company, COG LLC, a provider of graphics production solutions for consumer packaging and in-store promotion & displays. CIG is a multinational, 100% Minority-owned holding company specialized in acquiring, supporting and growing subsidiary companies in diverse industries.

COG specializes in identifying, managing, and implementing process-driven graphics production capabilities that impact the effectiveness and return on investment of their customers’ consumer packaging and in-store promotion & display efforts by driving Innovation, Process Simplification, Speed-to-Market, Collaboration, and Cost Reduction. The company’s core areas of expertise and services include Workflow Process Development & Management, Graphic Design Implementation & Production Artwork, Image Capture & Manipulation, and 2D & 3D Prototyping. Typical customers include Brand and Corporate Marketers, Sales organizations, Creative & Design agencies, and Retailers.

Founded in 2009, and based in Cincinnati, Ohio, COG advocates and drives a customized and collaborative approach toward graphics production versus the commodity-based or “one-size-fits-all” capabilities that are typically offered toda COG’s leadership understands graphics production from myriad perspectives– brand strategy, agency creative and design, workflow process development, digital artwork production, printing, and fulfillment– through years of experience working in those industries, and for some of the world’s leading brands. What distinguishes Cog in the graphics production industry is how, when, and where they configure their expertise and services. Combined with their extensive, multi-disciplinary experience, COG is uniquely qualified to provide value throughout the graphics production process and to work simultaneously and collaboratively with their customers’ key internal and external stakeholders (i.e., brand/marketing, sales, product development, creative/design agencies, printers, and retailers) – from the onset of front end innovation and creative/design development through final production of their customers’ consumer packaging and in-store promotion and display initiatives.

The addition of COG to its portfolio of companies allows CIG to provide a “Total Print and Graphic Communication Solution” to its customers, emphasizing speed-to-market and helping our customers win with consumers in-store.
